Estate Wines - Our Benchmark

Our Estate wines come entirely from our own vineyards where we have the most control over the quality of our grapes. Some of these are the original vines that the Kiltz family discovered after buying the Blue Grouse property in the late 1980’s, some are plantings from the 1990’s, when Hans Kiltz transplanted French vines, and as our newest vineyards mature, those grapes will find their way into our Estate wines too.

We grow the following varietals in our estate vineyard:

- Pinot Gris
- Siegerrebe
- Pinot Noir
- Black Muscat

Introducing Quill

Quill wines really showcase our winemaker’s talents! Sourcing some of the best grapes grown in British Columbia and blending them meticulously, Bailey’s wines strike a balance between the high acid grapes from our cool climate and the more fruit-forward grapes from the Okanagan. Crafted to pair with your favorite dishes – or just enjoy on their own – Quill wines really hit the mark with their quality and value.  Look for our Quill Red and White wines as we release them.

Library Wines

Every year we set aside some of our wines to see how they age and to compare them vertically to their predecessors. This gives us a chance to see how each year’s growing season, average temperatures, fermentation, or aging techniques bring out different elements of each grape – and what makes a vintage shine!

Notable among recent releases is our 2006 Estate Pinot Noir, which is getting very difficult to find - even restaurants are holding on to what little they have left. However, Fan Club members may get opportunities to try these and other Library Wines at winemaker dinners and special tastings. And once in a while we may offer some for sale to our Fan Club…you’ll just have to wait and see what we pull out of the Library.
